The Little Church with a Big Heart
Trinity Presbyterian Church sits seventy-five yards off Holmes Ave. Surrounded by the ever growing University of Alabama in
Huntsville, it is a small inconspicuous building. Without the large white cross and bell tower one would never know within there is a congregation with a heart as big as all outdoors.
Trinity is blessed to have an energetic and talented music department. In addition to the Chancel Choir there is a Handbell Choir of 12 dedicated people who play the bells once a month for regular Sunday services and a devoted handbell quartet that plays at nursing homes several times a year as a musical ministry.
The biggest and most successful outreach program is the Food Pantry. Although there are several food pantries in Huntsville, Trinity is the only Presbyterian Church that has a thriving pantry. With the congregation, community support, and tireless volunteer help the pantry has served 1,420 people in 2009.
In the past Trinity lent a helping hand to start The Korean Church by offering to share the building until they could build their own. For the last 8 years a Chinese congregation shared our building until they were able to build their own church. In September 2007 their congregation moved into their new church. It is so rewarding to help new Christians worship God.
Trinity became a partner in the Circle Project sponsored by The National Children's Advocacy Center through Morris Elementary School. Knowing we are instrumental in helping "at risk" families is God's work in progress.
There are many more ways that Trinity seeks to do the will of God. They are involved with the Down Town Rescue Mission, Samaritans Purse, the Presbyterian Children's Home, Souper Bowl, IMS - First Stop Homeless services to name a few. When the call goes out for a need to be met, Trinity Presbyterian steps up and is truly.......
